FRONT END

• Basic tools
  • Wrenches, screw drivers, sockets, etc.
• drill
• penetrating lube
• coarse file
• sand paper
• hack saw
• disc grinder
• Cutting torch (opt.)
• Saws all or jig saw
• An extra pair of helping hands

NEEDED ITEMS

• Baja Kit
• Front Bumper
• Hood Hold Downs
• Small screws
• Marker
• Spray paint

OK by now you should have the lights set aside and the bumper, fenders and hood removed. If not go ahead and do this now. Remember to use the penetrating oil

Alright lets get started.

• Install the new hood
  • This usually requires some trimming around the top to get a good alignment with the body.
  • Use a coarse file and sand paper until you get it right
    • Remember take your time and get it right
  • Unless you're using a reinforced hood make sure you remove the hinge springs
• Now it's time to remove the nose
  • Here's some photos of how it looks when ready for new nose peice
    
  • Leave a couple of extra inches when you first remove the nose
    • This should give you plenty to work with
  • Now slide the new nose piece into place and lower the hood to check alignment.
    • At this point use cut and checks, until you get a good hood alignment
    • With a little effort you can get a nice fit all the way around

• Once aligned hold in place and drill four fastening holes
• Bolt it in place using a large washer on both sides
  • I don't like pop rivets they have a tendency to wear loose in a short period of time
• Install hood hold downs
• Install the fenders
  • Same procedure as the rears
• Install the head lights
  • Cut a hole in the fender leaving approx. 3/4in around the out side edge
    • DO NOT completely cut out the opening or you'll have nowhere to fasten the headlight bucket to.
    • Exception: if you are using after market stud mounted housings.
  • Now do the cut and fit routine again until it fits correctly
    • make sure you install them right side up
  • Now drill holes and use small screws to fasten them in
  • If your going to use the stock turn signals, use the gasket as a template for the mounting holes
• Install the front bumper
  • remove the bottom two bolts that hold the front beams on
  • Slide the bolts through the lower bumper mounts and reinstall them in the beams
  • The upper mounts fasten in various ways
    • Some just require drilling a hole through the shock tower
    • Others may require the welding of a bracket
    • Check your mounting instructions
• Remount your licence plate (if required)
• Make sure your lights are all working
• Install new shocks if you have them
• Put on your new wheels and tires if you have them
